Like Pirate Gold, Take Ten is a fast-paced game with no skill involved.
In Take Ten, you remove pairs of cards that add up to ten, or sets of 4 tens, jacks, queens, or kings. See GameRules.com for the full rules.
Many sources are giving a win rate of 1-in-8 (or 12.5%), but my simulator found that the actual rate is lower than that: 9.13%.
The difficulty of winning can be changed by adjusting the number of piles (normally 13). I had my simulator determine a variety of win rates for various numbers of tableau cards. Here are the results:
| Cards in Tableau | Games Won | Win Rate % |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 127,744 | 0.12 |
| 11 | 776,786 | 0.78 |
| 12 | 3,133,662 | 3.13 |
| 13 | 9,133,916 | 9.13 |
| 14 | 20,391,819 | 20.39 |
| 15 | 36,667,407 | 36.67 |
| 16 | 55,369,720 | 55.37 |
| 17 | 72,734,946 | 72.73 |
| 18 | 85,773,159 | 85.77 |
| 19 | 93,711,040 | 93.71 |
| 20 | 97,649,994 | 97.65 |
